Welcome to Play Italian,
Where puzzles and games bring fun into learning Italian, particularly new vocabulary.
Studies show that when we make learning fun, we are able to grasp concepts and retain knowledge much more easily.
Because puzzles are fun, and they are a great way to keep the mind active and engaged. If you combine puzzles with learning a new language, you increase the sense of challenge and reward.
Ciao, my name is Martina and I was born and raised in Sardinia. In my late twenties I moved to London, England to further my life adventures.
It was here where I met my husband, an Englishman, who over time, wanted to learn my language, but, like most people, didn’t have the time or energy at the end of the working day to study and complete homework.
One evening, while sitting at the kitchen table (my husband trying to finish a tedious Italian grammar exercise, and our daughter completing a word-search puzzle) I had an idea.
What about combining puzzles with learning a new language?
I started to create some of these puzzles and realized that they were a lot of fun to make. Would they be fun to solve too? I asked some friends who are Italian language learners to play with the puzzles, and after some great feedback, Play Italian was born.
With so many ideas for new puzzles, I realized that it would make sense to collect them into a book. And it might be more helpful for Italian language learners to have the puzzles grouped by theme, as this would make it easier to remember new words.
Often, those who learn Italian also love to travel to Italy, if they can. So my first puzzle book had to be themed Travel to Italy.
Just launched on Amazon, the puzzle packed 162 page Travel To Italy – Learn Italian with Puzzles is the first in a series of books I will be publishing and includes the following puzzles …
A selection of puzzles you can download and print.
Puzzles you can complete on your computer.
New books with new topics and puzzles to help you learn Italian.
