Here you will find a different approach to learning Italian. This approach involves playing as you learn, in particular playing Italian games, puzzles, and other engaging activities.
There are plenty of websites out there that offer online courses, private tuition, grammar lessons or one-to-one conversations.
Because puzzles are fun, and they are a great way to keep the mind active and engaged. When you combine puzzles with learning a new language, you increase the sense of challenge and reward.
Puzzles stimulate critical thinking, enhance problem-solving skills, and make learning interactive and enjoyable.
Most of the resources available here have been designed specifically to help you improve your Italian vocabulary. I expect that you will have some prior knowledge of the Italian language, either at beginner or intermediate level. The idea is that by playing with these puzzles and games, you can pick up some new Italian words or revise the ones you already know.

That’s me, Martina. I was born and raised in Italy, and I moved to the UK in my late twenties. I am passionate about languages, and having fun while learning.
You can get to know more about me and how Play Italian was born here:
At the moment Play Italian offers a few samples of puzzles and lessons. Some puzzles you can download, print and solve at home, others you can play directly online. I’m currently very busy creating more, so do come back regularly and check for updates.
The plan is to offer more and more resources in the future, plenty of fun activities that will help you on your Italian learning journey.
As well as offering plenty of games on my website, I thought it would make sense to collect some puzzles into a range of books. And it might be more helpful for Italian language learners to have the puzzles grouped by theme, as this would make it easier to remember new words.
Often, those who learn Italian also love to travel to Italy, if they can. So my first puzzle book had to be themed Travel to Italy. I followed this up recently with my new book Home and Family.
Both books are packed full of puzzles to help you learn Italian as you play.

So thats how my Puzzle Books were born.
And to add another note of fun to this project, I also created some t-shirts with designs and slogans that are connected to Italy, its culture and its language.
